Baglio della Luna was born form the restoration of an antique structure in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Today, a few years after its opening, is a sure point of reference as a high level Sicilian hotel.
The structure is composed of an end-of-the XIII century Tower, that was restructured in 1555 by Emperor Charles V and used in defense and watch against the Saraceni by Carlo V.
One finds the rooms of the hotel creatively arranged in a reserved guest area surrounding a courtyard enclosed by high walls (the ?baglio?).
A special note must be given to the restaurant ?Il Dehors? classified by gastronomers as one of the four top restaurants in Sicily. In the guest area one finds 22 creatively arranged rooms, of which the Superior has a view of the Valley of the Temples and greatly surprises guests with its furnishing, much of which is antique.
In the Tower, aside from the living room set under arches from the 16th century, one finds the three House Suites furnished with antiques and bathrooms with hydromassage, a true prize and gratification after a day of sunny archeological excursions. |
